Bright Future Sunglasses

Ideas for Classroom Use

As the school year winds down, there’s no better time to reflect on how far your students have come—and help them look forward to all the amazing things ahead! One of my favorite ways to wrap up the year is with this cheerful and creative activity: “Sunglasses: My Future Is So Bright”. 🌞🕶️

This activity invites students to dream big and imagine their future selves—whether it’s a doctor, artist, athlete, or something the world hasn’t seen yet! I pair this lesson with a sweet read-aloud I found on YouTube called Future Is Bright by Corey Finkle. It sets the perfect tone for celebration, imagination, and encouragement.

How to Use This in Your Classroom:

  • Start with a class discussion: What do you want to be when you grow up? Who do you want to be?
  • Have students write about their dreams using a simple writing prompt.
  • Let them personalize a portrait template and choose a fun pair of sunglasses.
  • Create a “Future Is So Bright” bulletin board with their work—it makes a wonderful end-of-year or graduation display!
